New Chapter

Well, it’s July 23rd and a new chapter begins.  As of 8:45 am this morning I am newly single.  As my new profile picture on Facebook says, “Single? No, I am in a relationship with freedom.”  I believe that was the quickest legal proceeding I’ve ever been to.  Our appointment at court was at 8:30.  I guess that’s what happens when the divorce is uncontested.  Short and sweet, just like I like it.

Anyway, Saturday is the leave day.  I hope.  No, I need to get everything done so that I can leave then.  Still a lot of packing to do.  It’s the drive that’s going to be interesting.  Has anyone ever driven across the country with a small neurotic dog?  I have meds for him, thank God.  After the first day he should settle in and I won’t have to drug him-I hope.

Lots to do-later.

I’ll have to try these once I settle down.

A look at today’s Sun in a composite of three images put on top each of other
Each image represents a different wavelength, which shows a different layer and temperature of the Sun. Do you see that dark canyon looking area? That’s a Coronal Hole and it’s pretty large. Coronal holes are areas where the Sun’s magnetic field is open. The magnetic field lines don’t loop back to the surface of the Sun. That opening lets’ solar wind escape into Space and since this coronal hole is facing Earth, the solar wind will reach us July 2-3. This could cause geomagnetic activity and aurora.

Update-July 1, 2012

Well, I have been done with teaching for about a month now.  It feels kind of weird, but I won’t know until about September how I really feel about it.  I am on the verge of a serious life change.  About to be divorced (second time), sending my baby off to college with her older sister, and moving to Tucson.

I have been developing my interest in photography.  I have always loved photography, but haven’t had the time to pursue it.  Now is the time, considering the life changes happening.  I think its time to do for me.  I have been doing for others for a long time.  I love my girls and wouldn’t change anything, but they are grown and ready to start their big life changes.  Its finally my turn and I’m embracing it.

NO FEAR!  Go forward with confidence that no matter what happens, you can handle it.

Photography Friday

This is an awesome site that I stumbled upon that simplifies the use of all those buttons on a DSLR. I love Aimee’s site, so visit her blog if you are wondering if you’ll ever get off of the auto setting on your new camera.

Just getting started

Well, here we are on a new website.  I’m trying out different things to see how they go.

I love science, which is why I teach middle level science right now.  I would love to teach science to college students to instill in them the same passion for science that I have.

tumblrbot asked: WHAT MAKES YOU FEEL BETTER WHEN YOU ARE IN A BAD MOOD?

Generally I feel better when I eat chocolate.  LOL. Being with my family or meditating also makes me feel better.
